What is a hose connection?

A hose connection connects a hydraulic hoseto the other hydraulic componentsof your industrial vehicle. We also refer to it as a hose attachment, hose coupling or hose barb.

Hydraulic systems use fluids under high pressure to provide energy to drive mechanical movement. For example, lifting and lowering forklift forks or facilitating the turning of a stacker's wheels.

Hydraulic hoses are consequently best attached with high quality hose couplings. After all, they must withstand high pressures and temperatures. Otherwise, the hoses will come loose, causing significant damage to your vehicle.

Hose coupling features

When choosing an appropriate hose connection, consider the following factors:

• Dimensions: your coupling must fit correctly to the other parts
• Angle: most hose connections are angled, usually at 90 degrees.
• Skive versus no-skive: for a skive connection you still need to modify the hydraulic hose, no-skive means that the coupling is ready to mount.
