ALUMINIUM-PIGMENTED SEALANT WITH TRANSPARENT FLOW-OUT

The combination of transparent hybrid MS polymers and aluminium pigments always gives the appropriate colour on grey metals. Applied in a thick layer it is aluminium-stainless steel coloured and in a thin layer transparent. Seal & Bond MS40 Alu can be applied to moist substrates, dries quickly and is permanently elastic. It can be used for both elastic and aesthetic bonding and sealing.

Use

• Processing temperature between +5°C and +40°C.
• Apply to a clean substrate, cleaning with Safety Clean and/or Multifoam if necessary.
• Apply with a manual or pneumatic gun (best with a telescopic plunger).
• Due to the wide variety of different plastics and compositions, as well as materials that are sensitive to stress corrosion, preliminary tests are recommended. Test adhesion on plastics, powder coatings, exotic wood species and bituminous materials.
• First reinforce weak and/or porous substrates with Fixapox.
• Due to the variety of varnishes and paints on the market, testing is recommended. The use of products based on alkyd resins can slow down the drying process.
• Use Safety Clean for safe cleaning and degreasing, for a perfect finish and for removing uncured Novatio polymers. Use Novakleen pH9 for finishing on porous materials.
• When bonding mirrors in sanitary rooms, only apply vertical adhesive beads to avoid stagnant moisture from condensation.
• Ideal glue thickness for optimum strength when bonding: 3 mm.

• Adhesion: excellent on all ferrous and non-ferrous metals and most building materials such as tiles, cement, natural stone, wood, concrete. On PP, PE, PTFE and bitumen, adhesion is not assured.
• Elongation at break - DIN 53504: > 250%.
• Colour fastness: colour change may occur due to external conditions.
• Overpaintable: OK with most solvents and water-based paints.
• Processing temperature: from +5°C to +40°C.
• Chemical resistance:
  • good : water, seawater, aliphatic solvents, oils, greases, diluted organic acids, alkalis;
  • moderate : esters, ketones, aromatics;
  • poor: concentrated acids, chlorinated, solvents, swimming pool water.
