What are sensors?

A sensor is an electrical component that detects a specific physical parameter, for example, motion or temperature. This parameter is converted into an electrical signal that is used to register the measurement data and display it to the user, or to initiate an action.

Sensor applications

Sensors have various applications in forklifts, stackers and reach trucks.

• Speed control: these sensors help the driver maintain a safe speed, for example, in bends. 
• Level detection: the maintenance and topping up of fluids for your vehicle (for example, the level of cooling water, brake fluid or the fuel level) is easier thanks to the information that sensors provide to you. 
• Load detection: sensors that measure the presence and weight of your load on the forks help you to handle goods accurately and prevent overloading. 
• Position detection: thanks to sensors that detect the position of parts such as the forks, the lift or the mast, you can load and unload more accurately. 
• Stability control: stability sensors indicate when a forklift is leaning over too much. They then activate a warning signal, or even an automatic correction. 
• Safety features: some sensors detect obstacles and people in the area, and thereby prevent collisions and accidents.
