Have you ever wondered why a strap drags along the ground underneath some forklifts? It is an anti-static strap, also known as an earthing strip. With this rubber anti-static strap you earth your vehicles. This prevents electrostatic discharges, which can destroy integrated circuits and lead to high costs.
Equipment for discharging static electricity ensures that electricity can be dissipated into the ground instead of into the internal components of the machine or the forklift driver.
Prevent problems caused by static electricity by fitting an anti-static strap to the underside of your forklift. An earthing strip is especially important for forklifts with non-marking tyres. Non-marking tyres have a different composition and have no anti-static properties, so an earthing strip is essential.
The strap must touch the floor and be relatively clean. If you install 2 of them, you have extra safety in case one wears out or one falls off.
